Working of MTP Kit

The MTP Kit is effective because it blocks the effects of progesterone, which are responsible for inducing the placenta to separate from the endometrium. The separation of the placenta from the endometrium is responsible for an abortion. It makes it easier for the contents of the uterus to pass through without any difficulties by relaxing the muscles of the cervix and speeding up the contractions of the uterus. When bleeding starts, the uterine contents are often blood clots expelled through the vagina. This occurs when the uterus ruptures.

MTP Kit is used for the following purposes:

  1. Abortion – MTP Kit is used for the termination of pregnancy (not more than 9 weeks) in women.

The receptacle seems to be no larger than a slender grain of rice to a seven-week pregnant woman. The receptacle looks like a kidney bean to a pregnant lady who is 9 weeks along in her pregnancy. After a certain number of weeks, you will need to have an ultrasound conducted to determine the procedure of abortion.

The MTP Kit contains one tablet of Mifepristone in addition to four misoprostol tablets. Mifepristone is meant to be taken by mouth with a full glass of water. After then, you are supposed to take the remaining four misoprostol pills throughout the next 72 hours. Your physician will provide instructions on how long you should take it.

Misoprostol can be administered via either the buccal or vaginal route. You will need to divide the four pills into sections for your cheek pouch to administer the medication buccally. Avoid putting them in your mouth and swallowing them right immediately. Two misoprostol pills should be placed on one side of the mouth, and two of the other pills should be placed on the other side of the mouth (at the back of your teeth, on your cheek pouch). Watch how quickly the contents disintegrate. When the 25-half-hour mark has passed, you should drink the remainder of the tablets. In most cases, bleeding starts the first four hours after the injury. Keeping a few sanitary pads on hand would be wise just in case the bleeding worsens.

In order to successfully manage your vaginal bleeding, you will need to assume the prone position and place all four pills directly into your vagina. In the event that the tablets fall out of your body before the bleeding begins, you will need to inject them back into your body. If the pills fall out shortly after the bleeding has started, you don’t need to worry about it because it’s possible that the majority of the medications have already dissolved by that point.

After a few weeks, you should make an appointment with your doctor to determine whether or not the abortion was successful. If you want to avoid severe cramping and stomach pain, your medical practitioner may recommend taking a tablet of Ibuprofen one hour before you take misoprostol. This will allow the medication to work more effectively.

Incorrect Dosage: This medication should be taken exactly as directed by your attending physician. As a result, skipping a dose of the medication is impossible.
